Ujjayanta Palace

Built during the reign of Maharaja Radha Kishore Manikya in 1901, the palace has a mixed architecture is a well-planned palace. The palace has 3 high domes, curved wooden ceilings and houses the State Legislative Assembly. Set against the Mughal styled gardens and the tranquil pools, the palace comes to life with floodlights in the night. The palace attracts many tourists and honeymooners and is a famous landmark in Agartala.

Tripura Government Museum

Located at Post Chowmohani in Agartala, this museum is home to historical and cultural paintings, artefacts, and documents. The museum has sculptures of the tribal community, artefacts and remains of the past Kingdom, and hundreds of coins used in the past. The museum has 4 galleries namely gallery of Indian sculpture, the Archaeological gallery, tribal culture gallery and the painting gallery.

Tripura Sundari Temple

According to the Pitasthans belief, it is believed that the ‘right foot’ of Goddess Sati fell at this place. The temple has a square shaped sanctum similar to a Bengali hut and the dome. The place is also famous for its ‘Kalyan Sagar’ lake on the eastern side.

Dumboor Lake

This lake can be found some 120 kms away from Agartala and it covers 41 sq. Km. The lake is famous for its thriving green vegetation and the 48 islands on the lake. It is the confluence of the two rivers, Raima and Sarma. Honeymooners can enjoy bird-watching here and also indulge in water sports.

Neermahal

This grand lake palace is built in the center of the natural lake, ‘Rudrasagar’. The western wing of the palace is called the Andar Mahal where the royal family lived and the eastern side was used by the security personnel and servants. An open stage amidst a beautiful garden can be seen in the western side. The palace has been taken over by the State Tourism which gave the place a new look.

Fourteen Goddess Temple

In Old Agartala, thousands of pilgrims throng this temple in the month of July in the festival of Kharchi Festival. Every year during this festival, a boat race is also organised.
